ALHAFAR PLAZA
LOCATION: HAFAR AL-BATIN, SAUDI ARABIA
As a part of the continuous work to achieve The Kingdom's Vision 2030, we have submitted a design proposal to Al Falah Holding for the recreational tourism project in Hafar Al-Batin to support the tourism movement in the city, in cooperation with the architect, Khalid AlRaky. The project is located between the two main roads in the city [50 and 85], which connects it with the capital Riyadh, Al-Khobar and Dammam cities, nearby The Jawhara Hala Mall, the largest recreational commercial complex in the city.

The project’s concept is based on the symmetry of the site and buildings. The Symmetry helps bind the various elements together into a single, unified whole. The aesthetic would be shown through its balance in the distribution of elements and it also strives to reduce the cost of the project as well as facilitates the implementation process. The use of symmetry has helped to resemble and duplicate the components of the various project sections. The use of curving forms has also been relied upon in the design, which helps to generate main axes that connect the project components in a streamlined and flexible way.
The project is comprised of 5 main sections:
1- Hotel apartments/chalets (24 two-story dwellings) have been designed in the form of twin residences that are contiguous with each other and wrapped to be an indoor courtyard with a water park that helps cool the inner space in addition to its recreational function.
2- An entertainment complex contains restaurants, cafeterias, stores, cinemas and an office building. Also here, the elements have been grouped together to form another courtyard overlooking a lake equipped with dancing fountains that can play an important role in decreasing the humidity of the atmosphere and increasing the feeling of comfort and relaxation by hearing the sound of water and music.
3- A five-star hotel managed by Hilton Worldwide Holding which designed in the form of two reverse symmetrical towers that are tapered upward through traceability which overlook the city areas from different angles as well as allow to add green elements on all floors to increase the vitality and life to the facades of the building.
The two towers are connected by a central section which contains floor declines that would generate gardens and open terraces. On the last floor there is a swimming pool with a glass wall and a terrace for relaxation.
4- Conference and Exhibition Center 5- A celebration arena with an outdoor amphitheater for cultural events which will be covered with shades mounted on a light metal construction later on.
